Lake Saint Louis

Lake Saint Louis is taking off

  • Money Magazine August 2009: A Top 100 Best Places to Live ~ Ranked #9

A planned community developed between two manmade lakes, Lake Saint Louis was originally planned as a resort area in 1961. As investors came on board, the focus shifted to create a residential area instead. Today, Lake Saint Louis is an upscale community appealing to “baby boomers.”

While the water atmosphere is forefront to the town’s recreational image, the Lake Saint Louis Community Association also offers an 18 hole golf course and two nine hole golf courses, swimming, tennis courts, beaches and riding stables. Lake Saint Louis also hosts the Lake Saint Louis Triathlon. There are three parks in existence, with two more in development.

Lake Saint Louis is home to St. Joseph Hospital West , which is expanding to include a 40,000 square foot cancer center. The cancer center encompasses women’s imaging and breast cancer services, diagnostic suites, a cancer informational center, and physician offices.

Lake Saint Louis features two shopping venues. The Shoppes at Hawk Ridge houses a Wal Mart Super Center, Lowes, and a number of small retailers and restaurants. The Meadows at Lake Saint Louis is currently under development. Future retailers will include Banana Republic, Joseph A. Banks and White House/Black Market, among others.

With retail, an appeal to the outdoors, and an involvement in the award winning Wentzville school district, Lake Saint Louis is continually growing to meet young families’ needs.
